Press report / Computer Input Devices

Auerbach, 26 February 2008 - In Hall 6 Cherry, will present IT Security solutions with software partners. In Hall 25, the periphery device manufacturer will take part in the Planet Reseller

Cherry GmbH will be present once again in 2008 with two stands at the CeBIT in Hanover. In Hall 6 Stand G40, the company will present its entire product portfolio on 130qm from Security Solutions right through to Home-Office Hardware. Once again, visitors to this year's CeBIT will benefit from the tried-and-tested partner concept. As keyboards do not represent a complete solution for most customers and only become part of a customer-specific solution when combined with applications from selected software partners, Cherry GmbH will present the results of this cooperation together with eight selected partners.
At the second Cherry stand in Planet Reseller (Hall 25 Stand D40 – G106), specialist dealers will receive the traditional exclusive service and expert advice. Visitors can also receive information on the new products from Cherry partner Raptor.

Computer periphery made by Cherry – more than keyboards and mice:
MultiBoard, SmartTerminal, SmartBoard, special keyboards with integrated chip or magnetic card readers and fingerprint sensors or stand-alone chipcard readers have underlined the expertise of the keyboard expert from Auerbach for years. This year, hardware solutions for reading the new electronic Health Card and Near Field Communication will be the main topics at the Cherry stand. The company is focusing further on Smart Devices and will present keyboards and chipcard readers with integrated contact-free chipcard readers.
In addition to Advanced Performance products, it goes without saying the current B2C product range will also be present with the new additions to CeBIT. These will include two mobile mice as notebook periphery devices.

Electronic signatures have now become indispensable in many business processes: for example in healthcare for ensuring probative value when digitally archiving patient data, in public administration for ensuring legally compliant digital file management and, in particular, in eBilling. With invoices now being increasingly sent electronically in all sectors, the use of electronic signatures is essential if these invoice documents are to be recognised by law and therefore acceptable for the purpose of reclaiming input VAT.
Certified to ISI 9001, secrypt GmbH in Berlin specialises in solutions for optimising, accelerating and securing digital business processes with legally compliant electronic signatures, time stamps and encryption, thus ensuring the authenticity, tamper resistance and confidentiality of sensitive electronic data. “Our continual adaptation of our client- and server-based signature products to meet user needs has been very positively received by our customers and has enabled us to constantly expand our activities,” says Tatami Michalek, Marketing Director at secrypt.

At this year’s CeBIT, the focus is on the expanded digiSeal server 2. Since it was launched in autumn 2007, numerous existing and new customers have already begun to appreciate the server solution’s updated features. It is not just the optimised communication flow between subscribers of signed documents and their recipients which impresses as a result of automatic signature generation with XML-specific signature formats (XML-DSIG and XML-XadES). All formats can now be used, ranging from various PKCS#7 versions to PDF and XML signatures, to 2D barcode signatures for verifiable and legally binding hardcopies of signed documents. “digiSeal server 2 functions according to a modular system, enabling the sender to select precisely the right format in accordance with the recipient’s requirements,” explains Michalek. Furthermore, it is possible to process several processes at the same time. The functions ‘Sign’, ‘Verify’, ‘Time stamp’, ‘Encrypt’ and ‘Send by e-mail’ can be easily combined with one another and operated in parallel. Thus digiSeal server 2 is also ideally suited to meeting the operating needs set by external service providers.
A worldwide unique feature of secrypt is its ability to print verifiable and legally binding hardcopies of electronically signed documents on paper.
