As subsidiary of the Cherry Corporation, Cherry GmbH has its main base in Auerbach, between Nuremberg and Bayreuth - on the edge of the Fränkischen Schweiz. Around 1270 employees work there in the fields of development, purchase, production, distribution and administration. The plant lies in the catchment area of a water protection area and borders with a military field exercise site.
The subsidiary plant in Wolfsbach near Bayreuth has around 200 employees and is run from the base in Auerbach. This plant was rebuilt in 1995, combining the two former Bayreuth plants in one building complex. The main focus in Wolfsbach is the spraying of components for the automobile industry.
We also have a further plant in Klasterec, in the Czech Republic, with around 500 employees. The plant was rebuilt in 1998 in Egertal and - as the plant in Wolfsbach - is answerable to the head of production management at Cherry GmbH. In Klasterec, we focus mainly on the production of products which cannot be manufactured in Auerbach and Wolfsbach for economic reasons arising from global price pressure.
Cherry: A stable company Cherry GmbH reached a turnover of 206 million Euro in 2006. Our main market continues to be the European Union, with a proportion of over 50 %.
